Shoulder complaints are a common problem in Dutch GP and physiotherapy practices. After back complaints, they form the largest group of complaints of the postural and musculoskeletal system. Between 7 - 34% of adults sometimes have shoulder complaints.
Since mid-2013, we have developed a shoulder care programme in collaboration with GPs and an orthopaedist. This means that the GP and the physiotherapist work together to optimise care for patients with shoulder complaints. Thanks to our long-term experience in the field of shoulder complaints, you can come to us with your shoulder problems. Moreover, we are affiliated with the Amsterdam Shoulder Network, which means we work according to the most up-to-date guidelines and use specialist knowledge in the field of shoulder rehabilitation.
Common causes of shoulder pain:
To start with, we make a thorough analysis of the complaint. In doing so, we look not only at your shoulder, but also at your neck and spine. Then, first and foremost, we aim to enable (pain-free) movement in the joint, as this is the main prerequisite for building strength.
