Psychosomatic physiotherapist

As a psychosomatic physiotherapist, you help people with complaints in which physical strain, stress and behaviour influence each other. You examine what someone needs, identify patterns and persistent factors, and work on recovery with targeted exercises, breathing and relaxation techniques and coaching discussions. This is how you support patients in understanding and regulating their symptoms, so that they can function better again in everyday life.

Your duties

You help patients with complex complaints at the intersection of body and psyche. You will combine physical and psychosomatic examinations, identify stress factors and coping patterns, and together with the patient, draw up a treatment plan appropriate to their recovery.

You use what works: exercise therapy for relaxation and recovery, elements from CBT, breathing and relaxation techniques, mindfulness and coaching on lifestyle and stress. You have enough time per consultation to allow for depth and sustainable change.

You easily liaise with GPs, POH-GGZ, psychologists and other disciplines in the centre and contribute to the content development of psychosomatic care within the practice.

Your new workplace

You will work in Medisch Centrum Randwijck in Amstelveen, where GPs, psychologists, POHs and pharmacists work closely together on a daily basis. The lines are short, the atmosphere is open and quality is central.

Within this multidisciplinary environment, you will be part of a small, close-knit and expert team at Physiotherapy Randwijck. We spar a lot, learn from each other and use everyone's specialisation effectively. This allows you to focus on what you enjoy most: really helping people - with the power of cooperation under one roof.

The qualities you bring

  • You are (almost) a registered psychosomatic physiotherapist
  • You have a natural eye for the whole: you investigate, listen through, and make connections between physical complaints, emotions and behaviour.
  • You work consciously and professionally, continue to reflect on your actions and ensure that your registration and professional knowledge remain current (BIG-registered; SKF is an advantage).
  • You communicate openly and committedly, moving easily between working independently and collaborating within the multidisciplinary team.
  • You enjoy development - you take it for granted to keep learning through peer review, training and deepening your craft.

This is what you get with us

  • You will work four days a week (32-38 hours) in a small, close-knit team where you are seen and where there is room to be yourself.
  • You will receive guidance that grows with you: we think along with you about treatment strategies, discuss case histories and give you room to further develop skills such as conversation techniques and body-oriented work.
  • You are part of a multidisciplinary centre under one roof, making collaboration with GPs, psychologists and POH-GGZ natural and low-threshold.
  • You have flexible working hours - where one evening a week is possible by mutual agreement - and you will work with SpotOnMedics in a stable and orderly calendar.
  • You will have plenty of opportunities for continuing education, both professional and interdisciplinary, and you will see a diverse patient population: from young adults to the elderly.
